Cajar Mansion
This stately mansion in Granada needed the right balance of photography technique: conveying the impressive air of grandeur the house deserved while keeping a homely, family feel. The effect was achieved by mixing images of the property’s ancestral history, for example, the remaining ruins of the estate’s old mill, the arches of ancient walls and the household chapel, with comforting shots of well laid meal tables, elegant bedrooms and the swimming pool for luxury fun in the sun.
A particular emphasis was placed on the immaculate gardens and their design – the original gardeners worked in the Alhambra nearby – to show off the extent and maintenance of the grounds. The hedges and fountains took their form from the Alhambra palace so we wanted to capture a sense of Spanish history in this impressive garden. A range of camera lenses were used in this shoot, particularly to get the wide angles needed to show this house to its best effect.
