The end of May is when the fiesta of San Isidro, patron saint of Capileira, takes place. The fiesta is a mixture of religious blessing, a thanksgiving, a village feasting and colourful get-together of young and old and everyone in between. It all takes place, appropriately, in the communal threshing area at the heart of shared rural life.
